Requirements: Basic knowledge in the field of analog and digital electronics.
Goal: Introduction to methods and techniques for designing electronic devices and systems.
Outcome: Students will be able to independently design electronic devices and participate in the design and implementation of electronic systems.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction. Basic steps in electronic devices development.
  2. Defining functional requirements in electronic devices design. Development cycle.
  3. Basic steps in printed circuit boards design. Input, intermediate and final production control.
  4. Basic components of electronic systems. Linear circuits.
  5. Selection of electronic components. Typical applications of passive componentsin in electronic devices.
  6. Active components and typical applications in electronic circuits.
  7. Power supplies design for analog and digital circuits. Sources of noise and suppression methods. Galvanic isolation and voltage barrier.
  8. Basic electronic devices for analog signal processing. Analysis and applications of electronic circuits with linear amplifiers.
  9. Analysis and applications of non-linear circuits.
  10. Design and applications of U/f and f/U converters.
  11. Design and applications of A/D and D/A converters.
  12. Basic electronic devices for digital signal processing. Combinational and synchronous logical networks.
  13. Microcontrollers and digital signal processors.
  14. Design and implementation of digital signal processing devices in programmable logic circuits.
  15. Recapitulation of knowledge and final considerations.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
