School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies in Belgrade is a state established, independent higher education institution. Shortened name of school is VISER. The founder of School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies
in Belgrade is the Republic of Serbia. The school was registered in the court register kept in the Commercial Court in Belgrade. The school is the legal successor of the School for the Education of Electrical and Metal Workers (later Electromehanical
school) in Belgrade,which was founded in 1974. From 1987 to 2007, the School operated under the name College of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. Since 2002, the curricula of College of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade were modified and modernized
to the highest standards that were valid at that time. Since then the studies last for 3 years.
In accordance with the Law on Higher Education from 2005, the School was accredited in 2007. It received a (operating) license and since then
has been named School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies in Belgrade. The last accreditation process of the School and the study programs was successfully implemented in 2017.
The main activity of the School is higher education,
and besides the main activity, the School also performs other activities for which it is registered (book publishing, research and development in other sciences as well as technological sciences and engineering, retail sales in specialist stores,
retail sales through post services or via the Internet).
The basic, specialist and master applied studies are organized and carried out by the School.The applied studies are a type of studies within which the programs of applied studies are carried
out,whose main goal and purpose is to train students for the application and development of professional knowledge and skills in particular fields, that is, that students adopt professional, practical and applicable knowledge and skills, which will
enable them to get involved in work processes.
The basic applied studies last for three years and 180 ECTS are achieved by their successful completion. In the School, eight accredited programs of basic applied studies are organized:

Specialist applied studies last for one year and 60 ECTS are achieved by their successful completion. There are six accredited programs of specialist applied studies in the School:
Master applied studies last for two years and 120 ECTS are achieved by their successful completion. In the School, three accredited programs of master applied studies are organized:
Adopted concepts of curricula and programs for basic and master applied studies enable students of the School to acquire five-year higher education in a higher education institution,that is, a total of 300 ECTS.
In addition to the programs of basic, specialist and master studies, the School also implements various forms of professional development and training. There are short term programs of studies in the School, that are currently being implemented in
the pilot project stage.
In order to ensure a very good position, which it occupies in the field of higher education in the Republic of Serbia, the School attaches a huge importance to the development and improvement of their activities and working conditions. Huge part of School’s own income is constantly, every year, invests in the maintenance and equipping of work premises, the procurement of education equipment, as well as technical and professional development of employees. The consequence of this approach to development is the fact that School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies in Belgrade is evidently one of the most developed educational institutions in the Republic of Serbia. All laboratories of the school are equipped with up to date equipment intended for the maintenance of laboratory exercises. Teaching from each subject is covered by appropriate textbooks, practice books and other auxiliary literature used in teaching. Teaching staff and associates employed in the school are authors of a large number of publications, among which are textbooks, monographs, assemblies of assignments and manuals for laboratory exercises.
School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies in Belgrade, together with renowned partners from Europe, the environment and the Republic of Serbia, was a participant in two successfully completed Tempus projects, and it is currently a participant in three current Erasmus + projects.
