Requirements: Automatic control 1
Goal: The course aims to teach students the design of compensators, regulators and evaluators in automatic control systems.
Outcome: After taking the exam, the student will be able to test the accuracy, stability, controllability and observability of linear, continuous, time invariant automatic control systems.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Quality estimation of control systems in frequency domain.
  2. Amplitude and phase reserve of stability. Amplitude and phase reserve of stability.
  3. The state feedback and adjusting the spectrum of poles.
  4. The output feedback and adjusting the spectrum of poles.
  5. Design of the state estimator.
  6. System bandwidth.
  7. Setting ACS quality via desired transition process and the determination of amplification coefficient.
  8. Industrial controllers: P, PI, PID controller and time delay. Cascade compensation: I, D and ID compensators (adjustables).
  9. Compensator realization with active and passive networks.
  10. Z transformation
  11. The structure of discrete, computer-controlled systems. A / D converter. D / A converter.
  12. Different discretization methods of continuous signals.
  13. Discretization of the model in the state space of continuous systems.
  14. Examination of the controllability and observability of the system state in s or z domain.
  15. Colloquium.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. It is performed in a hardware laboratory with the active participation of students. Students independently or with the help of teachers solve the set management tasks. Solving specific tasks based on set exercises in the Manual.
