Requirements: Knowing the contents in the ICE field.
Goal: Overcoming the basis of the theory of combustion process in diesel engines, as well as the application of electronic fuel injection systems on modern diesel engines.
Outcome: Student's ability to perform diagnostics of diesel engine electronic systems and remedy the identified malfunction.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introductory lecture (introduction to the plan and program, goals, outcome and methods).
  2. Basic elements of the combustion process in a diesel engine.
  3. Fuel and lubricants for diesel engines
  4. Configuration of fuel and air supply systems for diesel engines.
  5. Construction of a conventional deisel fuel supply system.
  6. Electronic regulation in conventional deisel fuel supply system.
  7. Common rail system.
  8. Supply systems with mechanical closure injectors.
  9. Propulsion characteristics of diesel engines and their regulation.
  10. Turbocharger and supercharger for diesel engines.
  11. Fuel economy.
  12. Diagnostics of electric diesel injection systems.
  13. Ecological aspects of diesel engines.
  14. Buka dizel motora.
  15. Final considerations and preparation for the written part of the exam.
