Ignition and Injection Systems in Otto Engines Course code: 140311 | 6 ECTS credits

Requirements:
Goal: The aim of the course is that students overcome the basic theory and application of electronic system of ignition and injection in Otto engines.
Outcome: Upon passing the exam, the student will be able to check the correctness of electronic ignition and ignition systems with the engine octa.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Otto cycle. The process of changing the working substance.
  2. The fuel for the Otto engines. The combustion process in the oto engines.
  3. Operating parameters of the Otto engine. Drive characteristics of the Otto engine.
  4. Ignition systems for the Otto engine. Classical (battery), transistor, capacitive and coupled ignition systems.
  5. General principles and organization of fuel injection systems with electornic regulation.
  6. Ignition and injection systems of modern Otto engines (KE and L-Jetronic, M and ME-Motronic).
  7. Colloquium.
  8. Gasloline directi injection.
  9. Ignition and injection systems for engines powered by alternative fuels.
  10. The characteristics of the supercharged and turbocharged Otto engine.
  11. Exhaust-gas treatment.
  12. Electronic control unit.
  13. Legislation and norms EURO 4, 5,6.
  14. Colloquium.
