Requirements: Knowledge of basic concepts in electrical engineering and mathematics.
Goal: Introducing students with techniques of designing and executing of electric lighting.
Outcome: Students will be trained in designing and executing of electric lighting.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introductory lecture (organization and content of the course). Technical regulations for electric lighting. Standards and recommendations.
  2. Light and lighting. Design of electric lighting.
  3. Electric light sources. Classification and principles of operation.
  4. Luminaires. Classification, parts and photometric data.
  5. Light emitting diode (LED). Physical principles and technologies.
  6. Interior lighting quality.
  7. Photometric data of lamps and luminaires. Calculations of indoor lighting.
  8. Lighting of industrial objects. Emergency lighting.
  9. Public lighting. Road lighting.
  10. Tunnel lighting.
  11. Reflector lighting.
  12. Sports lighting.
  13. Computer design of the electrical lighting.
  14. Electric lighting control systems, software and devices.
