Requirements: Knowledge of basic concepts in electrical engineering and mathematics.
Goal: To inform the students about basic teoretical and practical aspects of testing and maintenance of high voltage equipment and inform about basic of dielectric, thermal and dynamic stresses in the high voltage equipment.
Outcome: The students will be qualified to prepare programes of acceptance tests, programes of testing during maintenance and to take part in testing during maintenance of equipment in the high voltage substations.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to the voltage levels of the power system of Serbia, with withstand voltage and test voltages of the equipment in the power system
  2. Instruments for testing of high voltage equipment
  3. Measurement instruments for testing of high voltage equipment
  4. High-voltage measurement techniques and methods
  5. Profilactic testing of high voltage equipments during revision
  6. Classification of testing of high voltage equipment
  7. Acceptance tests of high voltage equipment
  8. Insulation testing of high voltage equipment
  9. Testing of grounding systems
  10. The EMC test of high voltage equipment
  11. Protecting power plants against lightning
  12. Testing and methods of laying of cable ducts
  13. Modern methods for detection and location of cable faults
  14. Thermographic testing of electrical equipment
