Requirements:
Goal: The aim of this module is introducing to basic principles of real time control, methods and possibilities of diverse process control, as well as qualifiying for programmable logic controllers programming.
Outcome: After successful completion of this module students should acquire intellectual and transferable skills in process real time control assited by programmable logic circuits. Studenst shall be trained to programm programmable logic controllers.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Real-time control. Introduction, phase controller illustration. Real-Time Systems.
  2. Parallel and serial data transmission. Devices for obtaining data in real time system.
  3. Introduction. Concept of the technological process, object and process within as an element of control circuit.
  4. Major technological processes overview. Mechanical process, liquid and gas flow, pressure change process, thermic processes, heat exchanger dynamics.
  5. Design of feedback control systems with one input and one output.
  6. Complex ACS design and design of ACS with multiple inputs and multiple outputs.
  7. Identification of control system object.
  8. Industrial components of control systems.
  9. Fundamental theory on programmable logic controllers.
  10. Basics of ladder programming.
  11. ACS pressure design, accured in practice.
  12. Thermal processes control.
  13. Automatic control systems for motion and speed regulation. Liquid level and fluid flow regulation process control.
  14. Elements of control system synthesis. Concept of optimal and adaptive control. Independent design of assigned control.
  15. SCADA - systems. Supervisory remote control and data acquisition standards.
