Requirements:
Goal: Getting acquainted with professional technologies and techniques for processing text, audio, images and videos.
Outcome: The student will be trained for the professional realization of multimedia content.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Multimedia concepts and terminology, historical and technological overview of multimedia disciplines.
  2. Text in multimedia, typographic settings, subtitling programs, movie and TV shows.
  3. Image and illustration in multimedia, design of static images and drawings.
  4. Photo editing, methods of selection and extraction, methods of fusion of layers.
  5. Record linear assembly video. Lighting, composition, plans. Assembly work process.
  6. Elements of film language of directing and editing. Framing, Orientation and Timing.
  7. Film and video editing technology. Linear and non-linear editing.
  8. Art of directing and editing. Types of film montage. Television and broadcasting.
  9. Sound in multimedia. Technologies and techniques of recording, simulation and processing of digital audio for video.
  10. Film and video animation. Computer animation and effects. Simulations of natural phenomena.
  11. Digital composite, travelling mask and special effects.
  12. Shooting in front of the blue screen and digital composite.
  13. Shooting in front of the green screen and digital composite.
  14. Digital composite technology and color correction.
  15. Dramaturgy and project documentation of the visual-auditory storytelling.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Getting to know and work in word processing programs.
  2. Exterior: capture actors and backgrounds for text.
  3. Laboratory: a photo, picture, and text processing program.
  4. Laboratory: photo editing, integration of text and actors into the background.
  5. Laboratory: technologies of selection and extraction of visual elements.
  6. Studio: framing and recording linear editing workflow.
  7. Studio: framing and recording non-linear video content.
  8. Laboratory: editingy of linear content.
  9. Laboratory: editing of non-linear content.
  10. Laboratory: picture and sound assembly.
  11. Laboratory: Finalization of Student Film Story.
  12. Exterior or interior: background image for the composite.
  13. Studio: Shoot actors in front of the blue screen.
  14. Studio: capture the action of two actors in front of the green screen.
  15. Laboratory: finalization and color correction of composites.
