Requirements: Knowledge of basic concepts in electronics and telecommunications.
Goal: Training students about the basics of biological processes and electronic devices used in healthcare and environmental protection.
Outcome: Students' ability to work on maintaining devices used in healthcare and protecting the human environment.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introduction to the subject: Healthcare, development of medical devices, the basis of biophysics.
  2. The basics of biomechanics. Basis of physiological acoustics. Bioelectricity.
  3. Devices based on bioelectric signals.
  4. Devices for recording by lighting and irradiation.
  5. Diagnostic system based on nuclear magnetic resonance.
  6. Devices of the diagnosis in nuclear medicine.
  7. Diagnostic devices based on ultrasound.
  8. Ophthalmic devices.
  9. Dental devices.
  10. Chamber systems for special care and therapy.
  11. Devices for measuring functions and replacement of heart and lungs.
  12. Devices for infusion and replacement of the kidneys and liver.
  13. Devices for testing and improving hearing senses.
  14. Devices for the operation of electricity to a human organism.
  15. Devices for life environmental control.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Practical classes are followed by a lecture program and are carried out by demonstrating the functioning and servicing of devices in the appropriate departments of hospitals and institutions.
