Basic information
Level of Studies: Undergraduate applied studies

Semester: 2
Requirements: Familiarity with basic principles of electrical circuit theory and higher mathematics.
Goal: Understanding of basic components of electronic devices, basic analogue and digital circuits and their application.
Outcome: Students will acquire knowledge about fundamental characteristics and application of electronic components, basic analogue electronic circuits, power supplies and logic circuits.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Introductory lecture (electronics engineer professional profile, organization and course syllabus , relation to other courses).
  2. Atomic structure of matter, basic characteristics of conductors, semiconductors and insulators.
  3. Electronic circuit components: resistors, capacitors, inductors.
  4. Integrator and differentiator circuits, electronic circuit components: transformers, relays, quartz crystal.
  5. PN junction, diodes.
  6. Bipolar junction transistors.
  7. Field effect transistors (JFET, MOSFET).
  8. Colloquium.
  9. Transistor amplifier circuits: single-stage amplifier with bipolar junction transistors and field effect transistors. Multilayer silicon devices: thyristors.
  10. Operational amplifier: basic circuits with operational amplifiers.
  11. Power supplies: rectifiers, linear and switching regulators, DC-DC converters.
  12. Logic circuits: operation principles and basic characteristics.
  13. Basic combinational and sequential circuits.
  14. Oscillators: RC and oscillators with quartz crystal.
  15. Colloquium.

  1. Instruments and laboratory equipment
  2. Linear circuits with passive components
  3. Semiconductor diodes and basic diode circuits
  4. Transistors and basic circuits with bipolar junction transistors
  5. Operational amplifier
  6. Logic circuits
  7. D flip-flop.
