Requirements:
Goal: Introduction to the basics technologies and techniques for creating optical-chemical and digital images.
Outcome: The student will be trained for basic professional (documentary and studio), photographing and processing of digital images.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Construction and operation of photographic devices, definition of image concepts.
  2. Capture optics, lens construction, photo-optics laws.
  3. Mathematical and exponometric values ​​of photo-optics; use of the lens.
  4. Exposure and exponometry, light, instruments and exposure measurement.
  5. Basic elements and rules of photographic and artistic composition.
  6. Digital photo processing, color correction and tonal range.
  7. Light structures and lightening.
  8. Light sources, quality, control, measurement and use of light beams.
  9. General Art Theory. Artistic professions and creative-production relations.
  10. Studio lighting - theme: scene and light atmosphere.
  11. Studio Lighting - Theme: Portrait.
  12. Studio lighting - theme: table arrangement (metal, glass, textile, leather).
  13. Studio lighting - theme: movement and attraction.
  14. Digital Video Basics.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Getting to know and handling devices and accessories.
  2. Exterior: taking pictures of the subject.
  3. Laboratory: a photo processing program.
  4. Exterior: Photography of the given topics.
  5. Laboratory: basic processing and correction of realized photographs.
  6. Studio: application of lenses and compositional rules.
  7. Studio and Exterior: Exposure and exponometry, lens and composition of the subject.
  8. Laboratory: filters and procedures for advanced photo processing.
  9. Studio: shooting a scene with two actors, set a light atmosphere.
  10. Studio: lighting and portrait photography.
  11. Studio: table-top lighting and photography. Tonal range control.
  12. Studio: lighting and photographing actors on the move.
  13. Laboratory: final photographic processing.
  14. Studio: photo enhancement.
